Hi there. I’m Rachel.

I’m a reporter, writer and TV producer based in New York. Since 2013, I’ve been a segment producer for the Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC, and I love it. Among my best segments: an explainer on the Affordable Care Act as the first open enrollment period began; a summation of the 100-year history of segregation and housing policy in Baltimore; and Melissa’s interview with outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder.

Before this, I covered health care policy for Law360, a news wire read by lawyers and lobbyists, and before that, I worked as a reporter for the political news site Talking Points Memo, the alt-weekly New Haven Advocate and several other small but scrappy publications. You can read more about that on my resume.

  • I am willing to bleed for a story. (Proof.)
  • I’ve written more than 1,000 obituaries.
  • You pronounce it “slay-duh.” There’s a good story there. I’ll tell you about it sometime.
