Hi there. I’m Rachel.
I’m a reporter, writer, and TV producer based in New York. I’m also in law school.
Since 2016, I’ve been a senior producer for AM Joy on MSNBC. I could bore you with the details but basically, my job is making sure the show gets on the air with all the moving parts in place and all the facts checked.
Before this, I was a segment producer for the Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC. Among my best segments: an explainer on the Affordable Care Act as the first open enrollment period began and a summation of the 100-year history of segregation and housing policy in Baltimore.
Before jumping into TV, I was a print and web reporter. I covered health care policy for Law360; politics for Talking Points Memo; and news and features for the New Haven Advocate. You can read more about that on my resume.
- I am willing to bleed for a story. (Proof.)
- I’ve written more than 1,000 obituaries.
- It’s pronounced “slay-duh.” There’s a good story there. I’ll tell you about it sometime.
